Terms of Use
Last updated: June 2026
By accessing or using CraftNote ("Service" or "CraftNote"), provided by Joyolabs Dijital Hizmetler Anonim Şirketi ("we," "our," "us," or "Company"), you confirm that you are in agreement with and bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please stop using our Service immediately.
CraftNote is an AI-powered note-taking, voice-recording, transcription, and summarization service available on the web, iOS, Android, and watchOS. Depending on your platform and plan, it may include a meeting bot that joins your calls to take notes, calendar integration, a browser extension, and connectors that let third-party AI assistants read your CraftNote notes on your behalf.
A note on readability. Each major section below opens with a short "In plain terms" summary. Those summaries are for convenience only; the full text of each section is what is legally binding.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Binding Agreement
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Joyolabs Dijital Hizmetler Anonim Şirketi. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms and any additional guidelines we may publish.
1.2 Eligibility and Capacity
In plain terms: you need to be old enough and allowed to agree to a contract.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to digital services in your country if that age is higher, to use CraftNote. You confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use CraftNote on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms, in which case "you" refers to that organization.
1.3 Updates to the Terms
We may modify or update these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. Material changes will be communicated via updates within the app or on this page, and we will update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Use of Our Service
2.1 Permitted Use and Content Submission
In plain terms: use CraftNote for lawful purposes, and only upload content you have the right to upload.
When using CraftNote, you agree to:
- Use the Service for lawful purposes, whether personal, educational, professional, or business.
- Submit only audio recordings, files, text, links, and content that you have the legal right to record, upload, and share.
- Maintain confidentiality of your account credentials.
- Understand that speech-to-text and summarization results are produced by algorithms and may require verification.
- Acknowledge that CraftNote's generated content is informational and not professional advice.
2.2 Recording Consent and Your Legal Responsibility
In plain terms: recording laws are your responsibility. Get consent from the people you record where the law requires it.
CraftNote can record audio and join meetings on your behalf. You are solely responsible for complying with all laws that apply to recording, monitoring, and transcribing communications. This includes obtaining the consent of every participant being recorded where required by law, including "two-party" or "all-party" consent requirements and wiretap and eavesdropping laws in your jurisdiction. You agree to record, upload, and transcribe only conversations and content that you have the legal right to record, and you accept full responsibility for any recording you make using the Service.
2.3 Prohibited Actions
You agree not to:
- Upload or submit content that infringes on any third party's rights.
- Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or extract algorithms used in CraftNote.
- Use automated means (bots, scripts) to access or collect data from the Service, except through interfaces we provide for that purpose.
- Share or resell your access to others.
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or misleading purposes.
3. Content and Data
3.1 Your Content
In plain terms: you own your content. You give us only the permission we need to run the app for you.
"Your Content" includes audio recordings, files, text, links, and any other materials you upload to CraftNote. By submitting content, you:
- Retain full ownership of your original content.
- Grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, store, transcribe, and analyze your content solely to provide and maintain the Service for you.
- Confirm you have all rights and permissions necessary to share such content.
- Understand that your content is retained as long as your account is active and can be deleted upon request, as described in our Privacy Policy.
3.2 Generated Content
In plain terms: the transcripts and summaries CraftNote makes for you are yours to use, including for work and business.
"Generated Content" includes summaries, flashcards, quizzes, transcriptions, translations, and other materials created by CraftNote from your input. You acknowledge that:
- Generated Content is provided for informational purposes and may contain errors; accuracy may vary based on input quality (for example, audio clarity or content complexity).
- It should not be treated as professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.
- You may use Generated Content for your own personal and business purposes. You are responsible for how you use it and for verifying its accuracy before relying on it.
4. Service Limitations
4.1 Technical Limitations
- File size, format, or length restrictions may apply.
- Processing time varies with content complexity and network speed.
- Link and video processing depends on the source's availability and accessibility.
- Speech-to-text accuracy varies with audio quality.
- The Service may be periodically unavailable for maintenance or updates.
4.2 Usage Limits
We may impose reasonable limits on:
- Number of files processed per day
- Total storage space per account
- Length of audio or video content
- API or request frequency
4.3 Fair Use Policy
Use and consumption of any feature or functionality of the Service that is provided on an 'Unlimited', 'free', or similar basis is subject to fair and reasonable use. If we reasonably determine that you have made unfair or unreasonable use of the Service, or have otherwise used the Service in a manner that creates an excess burden on the Service, we have the right to limit, restrict, or suspend your access upon providing prior notice until such time that you agree to correct your usage or upgrade your Subscription.
5. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
5.1 Subscription Model
CraftNote offers optional premium features through in-app purchases or recurring subscriptions ("Subscriptions"). These may include expanded processing limits, advanced features, or enhanced storage options.
5.2 Billing and Renewal
In plain terms: you can buy through the App Store, Google Play, or on the web. Subscriptions renew until you cancel.
- Depending on where you purchase, payment for Subscriptions is processed through the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, or, for web purchases, through Paddle, our Merchant of Record for web billing.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your Subscription in your device's account settings (for App Store and Google Play purchases) or, for web purchases, through the cancellation flow we provide and your Paddle purchase receipt.
5.3 Refunds
Refund eligibility and how to request a refund depend on where you purchased your Subscription. The full refund terms, including the three purchase channels and country-specific rights, are set out in Section 12 (Refund Policy).
5.4 Third-Party Payment and Subscription Tools
CraftNote uses trusted third-party partners to process payments and to manage subscriptions, paywalls, and analytics, including Apple, Google, Paddle, Adapty, and Superwall. By purchasing or managing Subscriptions through these tools, you also agree to their respective privacy and terms policies.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Rights
The Service, including software, algorithms, design elements, and user interface, is the exclusive property of Joyolabs Dijital Hizmetler Anonim Şirketi and its licensors. You agree not to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on our intellectual property without written consent.
6.2 Trademarks
"CraftNote" and all related logos and branding are trademarks or registered trademarks of Joyolabs Dijital Hizmetler Anonim Şirketi.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Our handling of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points include:
- Your data is processed to provide and maintain the Service for you.
- Audio recordings and content are encrypted and stored securely.
- We do not use your recordings, transcripts, summaries, or chats to train AI models, and our AI vendors are contractually barred from doing so.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data.
- We never sell your personal data to third parties.
8. Sensitive and Health Data
In plain terms: CraftNote is a general consumer app, not a medical or compliance tool. Don't upload sensitive or patient data unless you take responsibility for it.
CraftNote is a general-purpose consumer service. It is not a HIPAA-covered service, and we do not act as a "business associate" or sign Business Associate Agreements. You must not upload protected health information, special-category data (as defined under Article 9 of the GDPR or as "sensitive personal data" under Turkish data protection law, KVKK), or other regulated data unless you have a lawful basis to do so and accept sole responsibility for that use. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of CraftNote with any such content complies with the laws that apply to you.
9. Disclaimers of Warranties
In plain terms: CraftNote is provided "as is." Always double-check important information, and don't rely on it as professional advice.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that:
- The speech-to-text conversion or summaries will be accurate, complete, or suitable for professional purposes.
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
- Results will meet your specific expectations.
CraftNote does not provide medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and Generated Content must not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Use of CraftNote is at your own discretion and risk. Always verify important information through original sources.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Inaccuracies or misinterpretations in generated summaries or transcriptions.
- Any loss or deletion of your content.
- Service interruptions or access delays.
- Indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid (if any) for using the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection rights.
11. Termination
11.1 By Us
We may suspend or terminate access to your account if you:
- Violate these Terms.
- Engage in fraudulent or harmful activity.
- Remain inactive for extended periods.
- If the Service is discontinued.
11.2 Effect of Termination
- Your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
- We may delete your stored data after reasonable notice.
- You may request export or deletion of your data before termination takes effect.
12. Refund Policy
In plain terms: how you get a refund depends on where you bought your subscription. Store purchases are handled by Apple or Google; web purchases are handled by us.
Refunds depend on your purchase channel. To the extent permitted by applicable law, purchases are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, except as set out below or as required by applicable law (including mandatory consumer rights).
12.1 How to Request a Refund
- Apple App Store purchases. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy. We cannot grant, deny, or influence Apple's refund decisions. Request a refund through Apple's "Report a Problem" page or Apple Support.
- Google Play purchases. Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policy. We cannot grant, deny, or influence Google's refund decisions. Request a refund through your Google Play account or Google Play Support.
- Web purchases (Paddle). Web Subscriptions are sold through Paddle as Merchant of Record. To request a refund or exercise a withdrawal right for a web purchase, email us at support@craftnote.com and we will process eligible requests together with Paddle.
12.2 Service Consumption
Each interaction with CraftNote generates server and AI model costs. For web (Paddle) purchases, our baseline eligibility for a refund is that you have used fewer than 3 app sessions AND your request is made within 3 days of the date of first purchase. Once more than 3 app sessions are used, or the 3-day period has passed, the service is considered consumed and a refund is no longer available, except where a mandatory consumer right applies. For App Store and Google Play purchases, the store may take consumption into account under its own policies.
12.3 Country-Specific Rules
(a) European Union / EEA / United Kingdom / Switzerland / Türkiye
If you are a consumer located in the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, or Türkiye, you have a 14-day legal right of withdrawal from contracts for digital services. BY COMPLETING YOUR PURCHASE, YOU EXPRESSLY CONSENT TO THE IMMEDIATE PERFORMANCE OF THE DIGITAL SERVICE AND CONFIRM THAT YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL ONCE THE CONTENT IS MADE AVAILABLE, to the extent permitted by law. For App Store and Google Play purchases, the store handles refunds and withdrawals. For web (Paddle) purchases, email us at support@craftnote.com; informing us of your decision before the withdrawal period expires is sufficient to meet the deadline.
(b) United States
For App Store and Google Play purchases, refund requests must be submitted to the store, which decides under its own policies. For web (Paddle) purchases, refunds may be requested from us within 3 calendar days of first purchase if you have used fewer than 3 app sessions; after that period, or after more than 3 app sessions, the service is considered consumed, except where a mandatory consumer right applies.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
In plain terms: Turkish law applies and disputes go to the Istanbul courts — but if you're a consumer, your local consumer-protection rights still apply.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts and execution offices of Istanbul, Türkiye, will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
Before bringing a claim, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at support@craftnote.com and negotiating in good faith. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, disputes will be resolved on an individual basis, and you and we waive any right to bring or participate in a class, collective, or representative action.
Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in, and benefit from the laws of, your country of residence where local law requires it.
14. General Provisions
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on that subject.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, outages, network or third-party provider failures, or acts of government.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
